The adoration of the egyptian deities is testified in Thassos already by the end of 3rd century b.c. Characteristic is also the finding of sculptures in the island that depicts young girls with jewel of head that is related with Isis. Moreover, the appearance of symbols of Isis and in the bas-reliefs on graves of the city, after the 2nd b.c. century, certifies her role as protector of young girls at their passage to the down world.
