FORTY-TWO BEAUTIFUL SWANS VISIT POTOS THASSOS GREECE

 

A large flock of swans landed this morning in the harbour at Potos. The flock consisted of forty-two lively white birds, who swam fearlessly on the calm water just offshore for several hours, to the amazement of onlookers. It was a remarkable and unusual sight because of the sheer number. Swans often visit the island, but usually in small groups of four to six birds. After resting for the whole day, the swans departed in the evening to continue their journey northwards.
